According to a teacher survey conducted by Springfield School Volunteers, SSV has been helpful to those who know us, but there are many in the schools who don't know about Springfield School Volunteers. We want to change that! We believe that we can help - Read On!
What is Springfield School Volunteers?
Through continuous outreach to the community, each year SSV is able to secure resources for the Springfield Public Schools, including over 2,000 volunteers, plus other material and financial resources. By coordinating programs such as the Read Aloud Program, SSV was able to provide over 1200 books to students and classrooms in Springfield's elementary schools last year.
Through our Springfield Partners in Education Program SSV seeks organizations such as businesses, colleges and service clubs to partner with schools. Currently 73 organizations partner with 44 public schools.
How to Access Our Services
To more effectively assist the schools, Springfield School Volunteers' Program Managers are assigned to individual buildings and will assist you with your needs. To access our services simply fill out a Volunteer Request Form [pdf][doc], which can be found in your school office or can be downloaded from our website. Be specific about your needs, time, dates, students' needs and number of volunteers. We will make every effort to fill your request as quickly as possible. We will call you if we are unable to fill the request in a timely fashion or are unable to fill your request. A three-week lead-time is appreciated.
